Low glycemic: Choose low glycemic carbohydrates and whole foods such as sweet potatoes and whole grains, and avoid processed carbohydrates such as breakfast cereal, bread, cake, and cookies. Also avoid anything containing high fructose corn syrup, agave, or added sugar.
