Risk of spread: Localized prostate cancer is divided in 3 categories, high-risk, intermediate risk and low risk for spreading outside the prostate. This is based on gleason score, psa value and physical examination as well as the level of involvement in both number of cores and percent involvement of each core. 10% is generally low especially if it's only in one core. The other factors may be more important.

Depends: It sounds as if there is a small amount of cancer in the prostate which is good. However, there are many other factors such as the gleason score, psa, and others that help determine how aggressive the cancer is and whether treatment is needed or not. These need to be discussed with a urologist and/or radiation oncologist expert in prostate cancer treatment.
