A member asked:

4x4mm heterogeneous hypoechoic breast nodule. no other description in the radiology report except for consider biopsy. what are the chances this is cancer and why wouldnt the radiologist describe the nodule in more detail? thank you?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The radiologist can only report what they see on the film, and they did that. They say consider biopsy because that description can be malignant, and the biopsy will tell. The radiologist only describes something in the detail they can see. When a radiology suggests a biopsy, it is best to get one.
