No specific age: It really depends on you situation and your development. There really is no set age. If there is a concern with your child typically having them evaluate by 7 is a good rule, but often treatment may not even begin until 12. Your child should have a permanent dental home, and your general dentist can determine if your child should have a consultation.. Of course adults can treatment too.

All Depends: The best time can only be answered when you are ready to commence with treatment. It is recommended that patients see an orthodontist at age 7-8 or when the dentist/pediatric dentists sees a problem that would benefit from orthodontic intervention. At your age, you can still see an orthodontist for treatment.

Varies: Usually when someone's 2nd molars are in they are ready for braces, around age 12. However, it truly varies depending on growth patterns. Some patients may need early treatment at 7 to prevent surgery later, and others need to wait until their 20's when growth is complete. It is best to see an orthodontist to have your growth pattern evaluated and the aao recommends that first evaluation by age 7.

Varies with treatmen: The age of onset is dependent upon the patient's condition and the options for corrections. Functional orthopedics can be started even with all of the baby teeth. Braces can also be used after the root development is sufficient so the teeth can be safely moved. If the treatment involves surgery you want to wait until the adult growth is complete. Check with you doctor for the appropriate time.

Depends: Our orthodontic association (aao) recommends an exam by age 7. Not that treatment is indicated, but this is usually when the first perm. Molars and other characteristics are present where an orthodontist can give you an idea if treatment is recommended early (age 7-9) or to wait until all permanent teeth are in (usually age 12-14). Simple things could be corrected early before they get worse.

Age 7 and above: 1st visit to an orthodontic specialist should be at age 7. Sometimes interceptive rx can reduce time in braces later. Don't wait 'till all baby teeth fall out, or space can be lost and rx made more complex. If you or your dentist see a problem, see an orthodontist for examination asap, that way the orthodontist can guide you as to the best time to start rx. There is no age upper limit to rx.

Any age can be OK : Some problems are easier to address at younger ages. Certainly some skeletal discrepancies can be much more complicated to treat in adults, but with new technologies; taking advantage of lighter forces and using non-cutting lasers to reduce pain and inflammation, stimulate accelerated bone growth and remodeling, and shortening treatment times, we can get great results in patients of all ages.

Ortho check by age 7: Most children should be checked by an orthodontist around the age of 7. At this age skeletal discrepancies can be addressed to possibly avoid jaw surgery later.

Orthodontic Treatmnt: Orthodontic treatment can be performed at almost any age, assuming that the bone and gum tissues that support the teeth are healthy. Age 7 is a good time to have a young person evaluated for interceptive or early treatment needs, while adult treatment is indicated for patients with functional and esthetic/cosmetic concerns. Contact an orthodontic specialist for a comprehensive exam.

Now is the time: It never gets easier than now!! Some problems are best corrected in growing children around age 7. These are issues with the jaw size or relationship that are corrected with growth modification expanders. Braces are typically used once the permanent teeth all erupt.
