Unsubstantiated: For most patients wilkodontics is excessively extreme in both risk and cost. It may be justified in some cases but in 48 years of practicing and teaching orthodontics I haven't seen a case that couldn't be treated more simply, cheaply and most important, more safely with conventional methods. If you have $10,000.00 lying around, take a cruise!

Choice: Wilkodontics refers to a surgical procedure that enhances bone remodeling, reducing time in braces by about a third. It is a surgical procedure with all the discomfort of any other surgery. It has an attendant cost that is usually considerably more than, and is in addition to, the cost of braces. Discuss it's applicability for you with a fully qualified Orthodontic Specislist.
