CVA: The neurologist/doctor involved with your mom's care is the best source of this information. There are lots of things that can happen with a stroke, some have good prognosis and some don't. Coma isn't a good outcome. The likelihood of her waking and what state isn't something online docs can speculate on without lots more info.

Coma?: Coma is not a good sign after a stroke. But is this a true coma, or is this a medically induced coma? Often critically ill patient's are sedated with medications in a "medically induced coma" to allow healing.
