A member asked:

Diabetes insipidus. may end up on desmopressin as hctz/indomethacin didn't work. how much should i expect to pay (no insurance)?

Ddavp (desmopressin) pills/nasal: Depends on the dose and whether on pills or nasal spray. Neither are cheap. I would ask your physician what u might need then call 2 or 3 local pharmacies for cash cost or possibly check the cost on line or in canada.

Diabetes Insipidus: Des oppression is available as a branded or generic formulation, nasal spray, or vial. Tablets cost from $1.30 to $1.50 each. A 5ml spray is $100-150. Depending on the severity of the di, no medication is needed, or small doses can be prescribed. Primary polydipsia is generally not treated with desmopressin.
