Good for you: Food types are important, as well. Lower fat and carbohydrate (sugars and starches) consumption, with increased protein and low calorie foods (fruits, vegetables) are important. Eating small quantities through the day , as opposed to 3 square meals, has been shown to help. Weigh once a week at the same time. Try for 1 - 2 pounds a week, and don't get discouraged if you have a bad week. Good luck.
