Hip pain on standing: If you strained your hip flexor muscles (primarily the psoas muscle), then it would be common (nor normal) for you to have pain in these muscles on standing or any time you stretch them. Yet stretching them is also the best way to heal them. Regular, slow stretches, as far as you can go without severe pain, repeated 10 times for a set, 3 sets a day.
