What type of exercises will they have me do in physical therapy for a strained hip flexor?

Lunges: The strained hip flexor muscle will tend to tighten. It is important to gently stretch a sore muscle. Start with warm-up of marching in place. Then, the hip flexor can be stretched by doing a lunge. With the strained leg behind the body while partially quatting onto the opposite forward leg you should feel the stretch in the groin. Hold for 15-30 sec and do twice. Include some brisk walking.
