A member asked:

Is focal intestinal metaplasia reversible. i am negative for hpylori. what effect can uncontrolled weakly and non acid reflux have on the f.i.m.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Reversible: Metaplasia by definition is reversible if the cause is removed. If you have reflux, acid or not, it will cause the metaplasia to persist. Please consult your doctor to evaluate the advisability of surgical correction.
