No: Hyaluronic acid fillers are softer and safer for lip injections. The most commonly used in the us are Restylane (dermal fillers) and juvederm, though Perlane can be used for larger augmentation. All these are clear. Radiesse is bright white, so can be visible, and is used more for deep lines and augmentation of the cheeks and chin.

Not recommended: My prefered filler is Restylane (dermal fillers) because it is a gel and can be compressed to shape of the lip. If it is injected exessively , it can be reduced or dissolved all togther by hyaluronidase. All that is not so for radiesse, and it might be necessary to remove exesse surgically. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

Radiesse (dermal fillers) not for lip: Radiesse (dermal fillers) can form lumps in the lip and is not recommended. Some doctors use it in the skin part of the lip which is not as dangerous. It should absolutely never be injected in the red part of the lip called vermilion.

Radiesse (dermal fillers) and lips: Radiesse should not be injected into the lips because of the hardness that it can create. Radiesse is not reversible also. HA based dermal fillers are the best choice for lip augmentation. If you are looking for a more permanent way to augment your lips, then consider fat transfer. Hope this helps.

Lip Aug for Men: Biologic tissue fillers, such as Restylane and Juvederm, are used in lip augmentation. The results from Restylane and Juvederm each last for about 4 to 6 months. Yes, men also get lip injections for augmentation. The entire injection procedure usually takes 20-30 minutes.
