A member asked:

Just got a ct scan result at er: narrowing of ascending colon above cecum, as well as a spiculated 12x11mm nodule in the rml. what could these mean? [44/male/ex smoker (11 years), no family colon c.]

Zip: Out of context they mean nothing- but get a colonoscopy- just to check it out. As far as the nodule, there will be a follow up and work up with that to make certain it isn't anything evil.

Both need evaluation: The narrowing can be due to inflammation or malignancy and needs to evaluated by colonoscopy. The lung nodule also needs to be followed if you're a nonsmoker or perhaps even biopsied if you are. It can represent scar, inflammation, or malignancy.
