Prepare yourself for: Separation; if you show separation anxiety or feed into his by lingering, he won't believe he's safe. Practice leaving him at friends' homes for play dates. Greet him happily but calmly on your return. Typical 3-year-olds have imaginative, interactive play with peers, crayon-& paper skills, compliance with directions, dressing, toileting, & self-feeding skills & short attention spans. Practice !
