A member asked:

A child at my school shined a laser pointer at my eye. what are the chances i'll get eye damage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: If the exposure was brief, and if you did not experience or have not yet experienced any effects from it, you like won't! the laser is concentrated light and, if the eye is exposed and doesn't avert quickly (which it does almost reflexively), it can cause a retinal burn in the central vision! if you are worried, have your eye doctor perform a dilated eye exam to check it out!
