A member asked:

My mum had a major stroke and she can feel us touching the side the stroke affected but can't move it whys this?

Not uncommon: Depending on what part of the brain is affected, a stroke can cause weakness, decreased sensation in the face or body, or both. It sounds like your mother's stroke has affected the power of her muscles more than it has affected the pathways responsible for sensation. This is not uncommon. Hope she gets better soon!
