? Epilepsy?: It looks like she has epilepsy. These are seizures for which no cause can be found in the brain, yet the seizures keep occurring unless she takes regular anti-seizure medication for 2-3 years. She needs to go to see a neurologist.

Postictal state: Postictal state is the definition of the symptoms you describe of being very fatigued after the seizure. Patients are often confused for a time as well. Seizures are serious and your mom should be evaluated by a physician as soon as possible. If seizures are new for her, there is likely some type of new brain abnormality.
