Wound care: Typically wait 24 to 48 hours after suture placement before gentle washing with warm water and mild soap. Okay to hairdryer the sutures after washing. Okay to call the clinic or doc who placed sutures for follow up visit and advice on your wound.

A week: As long as it is clean water you will be fine after a week. The stitches are usually removed after 7-10 days if the wound is healing properly.
