Meds/ ECT: If someone is severely depressed psychotropic medication or electroconvulsive therapy are two options. If the person is acutely suicidal that the best course of action is to be seen promptly at the nearest emergency room. Take care.

Depression meds: There are medications that help patients with severe depression, in the way to be properly evaluated for depression inappropriate message is to see a reputable psychiatrist. That being said medication alone cannot solve ones problems, past a certain point medication can only take the edge off the symptoms. Psychotherapy additionally with meds is the best way to go.
