A member asked:

Can you get an abdominal ct without a recommendation from your physician? thanks!

Usually not: In general, most imaging procedures require an order from a physician. These days most insurance companies also require pre-authorization in order to cover the test. Technically, some places offer whole-body screening ct where a radiologist is the "ordering" physician, but these are controversial, not covered by insurance and not necessary at 24 yo. If you have symptoms, see a doctor first.

Only one way: There are places that offer "screening" tests which may include a ct of the abdomen but i don't recommend it.
