Have an umbilical hernia , son is now 9yrsold. i get pelvic shocks from time to time and intercourse causes pain in my abdomen. doctor didnt seem to think i needed it to be fixed right now, looking for other recommendations. would like pain to stop?

Hernia with symptoms: Any hernia with symptoms of pain/discomfort should be fixed. It can easily be fixed laparoscopically with 2 small 5mm incisions. You should seek surgical evaluation.
