A member asked:

My husband recently passed blood in his stool. his doctor did a ct scan of his abdomen and diagnosed him with prostatitis. does that cause bloody poop?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Keep looking please: Blood in stool, regardless of age of the sufferer, is never normal. As such, and although the cause is hopefully easily explained (e.g. hemorrhoids, anal fissure), it must be evaluated so serious pathology is not missed or diagnosis delayed.
