Many options: There are multiple medical and surgical options for abnormal uterine bleeding. Her doctor may want to obtain a pelvic ultrasound and sample her uterine lining first to make sure there are no cancer or pre-cancer cells. If normal, then there are pills, shots, small procedures, big procedures, all depending on your mother's medical and surgical history and her preference. Make an appt and good luck!

Depends on the cause: This bleeding is not normal but may be caused by many different things including abnormal anatomy as well hormone issues. Your mom needs a careful evaluation by a professional health provider.
