Great for 9 month ol: Tofu is a soy food so avoid if any question of soy allergies. Tofu can be given to infants 9 months and beyond and has protein, calcium, and iron. You can serve it plain, diced up soft and small as finger food, cooked and mashed with sauce or mixed with cooked vegetables. Silken tofu can be blended into a fruit smoothie. Good for parents as well!

Go ahead: However, please be sure that junior is adequately nourished otherwise, especially with the iron he needs. Despite all the pop claims and rhetoric, vegetarianism is dangerous unless you know exactly what you are doing, offers its participants little beyond feeling morally superior (which they may be), and it's especially dangerous for children. Please be well-informed in caring for your new baby.
