Depends: If there is no infection present there is no need to take antibiotics. When there is an infection, it may take 3-5 days to control it to the point where extraction is possible, but sometimes it takes longer. Your best bet is to ask the dentist or oral surgeon you will be seeing for the extraction and get their guidance.
