Have it evaluated: Have your dentist determine what's causing the food to remain. It could be a cavity, chip, broken filling, interproximal food impaction or something else. If the tooth is not healthy, cannot be repaired, cannot be kept clean, or a potential problem, it would most likely be better to remove it. Your own dentist can better evaluate it and advise your what is best course of treatment.
