May be: Difficult to say: what was the reason for obstruction and what type of hernias do you have? Hernia can cause obstruction. Incisional hernia can happen after surgery.

Could be: Hernias: external (abd wall or groin), or internal (hiatal-opening in diaphragm for esophagus to enter stomach, or other internal "ruptures"). If bowel gets caught, and stuck (incarcerated) can cause bowel obstruction. If bowel gets caught, blood supply compromised, it is strangulated- surgical emergency. There are other causes for obstruction, incl. Adhesions-internal scars, masses, other.

Not related but if: You did not say what kind of hernias you have.If the hernias are inguinal or femoral than it is not related. But if you have incisional or ventral hernia it may be related to surgery if you had any for intestinal obstruction we do not know what your newly diagnosed hernias are.

Not sure: I am not sure whether you have had abdominal surgery before by your question , however if you have required surgery before and your hernias are a result of the previous surgeries then your abdominal pain could be related . You need to see your surgeon and that should answer your concerns.
