Back or heatburn....: Back pain does not cause indegestion. They are separate entitities and unrelated. However agents to treat back pain can aggravate your heartburn. You can deal with both almost simultaneously, but the heartburn remedy (prilosec) is otc and does not need a prescription. Aleve (naproxen) can be taken shortly thereafter. If your back is chronic, you should see a rheumatology, orthopedic, or physiatry md.
