Possibly: You will need to see a hematologist and have some evaluations done. There are different causes of elevation of white blood cell and platelet- including the one caused by primary bone marrow problem- like chronic leukemia or myeloproliferative neoplasm- which should be ruled out. So, go to see your pmd and get a referral to see a hematologist for further work-up.
