What could be the cause of elevated wbc count (11,000-19,000 fluctuating) and elevated platelets (450ish) for over a year? no infection or obvious symptoms present. and how much can a wbc count fluctuate in one day? mchc crp mch mcv all in range?

The main concern about such blood counts is chronic myelogenous leukemia. CML is rare at your age, but with no change for a year you should not take chances with this. See a hematologist/oncologist. A very easy genetic test (a simple blood test) can further check out the likelihood of CML. (WBC can vary quite widely from test to test, even over a day -- even by a few thousand.) Good luck.
