My daughter is 2.5 years old. she has low wbc and platelets, high lymphocyte differential (67%) and her anc is 0.998 (which i'm told is low). would roseola be the sole cause ofthis?

Talk to pediatrician: Talk to your pediatrician. Review complete blood count (CBC) with differential trend and possibly other laboratory tests. You pediatrician may consider a pediatric hematologist evaluation.

Could be...: Cells made in the bone marrow (such as neutrophils and platelets) can be suppressed after a viral illness, and then they will recover on their own. The higher lymphocyte percentage also can be a result of a virus. If she is improving with no new symptoms, her CBC should be rechecked in 2-4 weeks (depending on how low her counts were in the 1st place). Otherwise, should see peds heme/onc.

With normal...: ...Red cell and platelet count, an isolated low ANC is most likely viral. High lymph % is a direct result of low anc.
