Is it Causing Pain?: The best thing to do is to visit your dentist. Third molars erupt at approximately age 18-21. At age 45, if this question is referring to you, it means it didn't have adequate room to erupt if you still have complete set of dentition. If your 2nd molars are missing, it can be a blessing especially if it is erupting in a proper or acceptable position.

Wisdom teeth: Panoramic x-ray should be done by your dentists to see if they have enough room to fully erupt , the tissue around the teeth must be kept clean with warm saline rinse to prevent infection called pericoroniti, most often the wisdom teeth end up extracted.

Wisdom Teeth: Can erupt any time after age 17. They will erupt normally like other teeth if there is room for them and if not they may partially erupt or not at all. See your dentist to have yours evaluated.
