Wide Variety: Although usually wisdom teeth (or third molars) erupt around 18-20 years old, there is a lot of variety in the timing. I have had patients as young as 12 begin to get these teeth. Sometimes the teeth do not come in at all and are called impacted. Most of the rest of the adult teeth come in closer to a more regular timing.

13-25: Varies widely. Wisdom teeth are most safely removed by mid teens. Make sure teens have wisdom teeth assessed by oral surgeon by midteens for expert advice.
