MD input: It would be best to seek your providers advice. I try to start less aggressive - sometimes my patients use a combination of melatonin and buspar (buspirone).

Multiple medication: I agree with other physician that is best to see your PCP for evaluation and advise, and in reality there are plenty of medication out there and u physician can choose for u the most suitable one.

Address the Anxiety: Your insomnia, as you state, is a function of your anxiety. Addressing the anxiety that you say is causing your sleep problems (you don't say whether the insomnia is sleep onset, sleep maintenance or early awakening) is the goal here. A short term fix on the sleep issue might be better addressed with some behavioral techniques (e.g. Deep muscle relaxation) while the root cause is addressed.
