I am currently taking remeron (mirtazapine) 30mg to help with my anxeity/insomnia. i have gained 15lbs. are there any anxiety medications that help in sleeping and don't lead to weightgain?

Remeron (mirtazapine): Remeron can cause weight gain. There are other alternatives such as Lexapro or viibryd, (vilazodone hydrochloride) but please discuss your concerns with your prescribing doc. To explore all options.

Remeron (mirtazapine): Is antidepressant , it can help with sleep and anxiety , there are other medication for sleep and anxiety that does not cause weight gain, discuss with u provider for advise.

SSRIs: There are other medications for depression and anxiety that generally do not result in weight gain, such as ssris. Best to consult your physicians about options.
