What would be a good medication for my 10 year old daughter to help with her anxiety while shes on atomoxetine? fluoxetine is causing all kinds of interactions insomnia, high heart rate) and i think its time for a change. help!!!?

Treatment recommend: I am a general psychiatrist and consider child psychiatry to be much more challenging than working with adults (in general). I would be very hesistant to make recommendation for her - without a thorough knowledge of her case. The treatment options really need to come from a psychiatrist who knows her history well and who is experienced in working with children.

Meds and side effect: I am a child psychiatrist. Your question implies that she is not anxious when off atomoxetine. You also imply that she is now extremely anxious. That would be an unacceptable side effect in my practice and we would stop the meds causing it. Please have her reevaluated with a psychiatrist who is child trained and has access to her history.
