Support: There are support garments made specifically for this problem. One brand is called the "v2 supporter" your doctor can write a prescription for one.

Compression: No one should treat these veins while you are pregnant. I agree with dr. Thompson. I would recommend that you wait 3 to 6 months after the baby is born and if they are still present you should have an evaluation by a physician that specializes in veins such as a phlebologist, vascular surgeon or interventional radiologist, .

Some possibilities: I completely agree with using a v2 supporter during pregnancy. As dr. Hansen mentioned, these veins often regress after delivery but they rarely ever go away entirely and can often be associated with other vein problems in the future. These include varicose veins in the legs, vulvar and labial varicose veins, and pelvic congestion syndrome. I would always recommend a visit to a phlebologist.

Varicose vein: Vaginal varicose veins are quite frequent during pregnancy due to increased pressure from the enlarging uterus To help use a support or compression maternity pantyhose.if these worsen discuss with your ob with regards to a product called a v brace which adds extra compression to the genital region

Pregnancy/vag. veins: Vaginal veins during pregnancy can cause significant pain and discomfort. Certainly support compression helps but this may not be enough. I have a patient currently who has clotted vaginal veins and I will evacuate these under local anesthesia. Wet heat to the area will also help. Most of these veins will decrease after the pregnancy. If not, then they can be treated by sclerotherapy.
