Ask why: Some curves are stiff and if the strength of the bone is decreased (due to osteoporosis, bone loss), attempted correction could break the bones. Sometimes correcting some curves will throw the body out of balance (head not centered over the pelvis). Correcting some curves can injury the spinal cord. If you hear this, ask why the doctor thinks this. You may consider a second opinion.
