Back pain causes: Most back pain in your age is muscular. Exercise and core strengthening is the main treatment. Your doctor is getting a bone scan to make sure a bone source of pain is not present. Most examinations are normal as is most scoliosis is not painful. Don't worry until an evaluation identifies something serious. This is unlikely.

Probably not serious: Back pain not usually associated with scoliosis. Low back pain can be caused by muscular and bone issues. Spondylolysis , a stress fracture in posterior part of lumbar vertebra 4 or 5, can be associated with scoliosis.Movement of one vertebra forward on another if bilateral fractures.Bone scan is the right test for detecting fractures and other causes of pain. Correlate with other imaging for rx.
