Depends: It depends on what is being casted. You may need to learn to write with your other hand or you may have enough of your thumb and fingers exposed to hold a pen to write. Talk with your orthopedist or occupational therapist, as they may be able to fashion an attachment to your cast that can hold the pen for you while writing.
