MUFAs: The fat in almonds is monounsaturated fat. This actually will lower the cholesterol. Almonds, paradoxically, have been found to help people lose weight in some studies. Personally, when i was losing weight i avoided them because of the high calorie content. Some argue that almonds tend to make you feel no longer hungry so that you lose weight in spite of the calories.
