Steroids shrink, but: Ependymoma is a type of glioma tumor that can produce headaches/n/v/and CSF flow problems leading to hydrocephalus. Most are benign, but the preferred treatment is surgical removal and chemo. Steroid usually shrink things, but this is not an inflammatory process, so it may have no effect. If the tumor is causing edema, the steroids will help. It is given to children in cases of edema.
