Common problem: Hopefully, with the full implementation of "obamacare", insurance companies can't do this and states will have insurance exchanges. Check with other insurance companies. In the meantime, work with your doctor on prevention. Many of the medications that you probably need are generic and affordable. Of course, you can make a serious attempt at weight loss. That will solve a lot.

Check Insurance Dept: I agree, but until implementation of the accountable care act, your answer is based on what state you reside in and type of insurance you carry and the plan filed with the state' depart. Of insurance by your insurance carrier. A suggestion, contact your state's department of insurance and ask if the insurance you carry can apply that preexisting condition. http://www.naic.org/state_web_map.htm.
