Follow Dr's guidance: A person wishing to stop an ssri can ask his doctor how to get off the medication. The doctor can help the patient decide if he is ready to stop the ssri, if he needs to stay on, or if he can switch to a non-ssri. If stopping, the doctor can give instructions on how to wean down the dose, if weaning is necessary.

Yes: Various between ssris, so no real generic answer, Prozac is easy to quit, it has long half life while Paxil (paroxetine) has short half life and is better if slowly taper down.
