Roughly equal: All ssris are roughly equal for treating anxiety. However, they vary in how sedating vs activating (or stimulating) they are. For this reason many psychiatrists opt for ssris on the more sedating, less activating end of the spectrum. Thus, prozac, the most activating, is used less for anxiety than, say, paxil, (paroxetine) the most sedating. But if sedation is a problem, any can be used.
