Long term SSRIs: Many patients are on SSRIs for many many years and have been tolerating, so it could be safe. The question you may wanna ask is whether you need them! It depends on what the indication was in the first place. The most common one is depression and usually we prescribe them for about 6 months then reevaluate. If the depression is resolved and stresses are gone, then we give it a try and taper off.
