Depends: It depends if fracture going through the joint and it complexity. Most fractures will heal within 2-4 weeks, and it is important to get into hand physical/occupational therapy as soon as you are cleared by your physician. It is important to have early mobilization in order to prevent stiff joints. Most finger injuries will stay swollen for months, even after the bone has sufficiently stabilize.

Usually4-6weeks: Most metacarpal fractures will heal in 4-6 weeks
if it is a severe fracture with displacement it may take longer or not heal
needs to be followed with xrays to monitor the healing.

4-6 weeks: Typically it takes 4-6 weeks to heal
if it takes more than 6-8 weeks i'd be more concerned
do you have a severely displaced fracture which is not healing?
Might you need surgical fixation?
