A knee landing on my foot caused a small fracture of cuneiform bone. i have molded splint now & they want to wait 2 weeks before a cast. is that normal?

Yes: It is common to place a fracture in a splint to allow the swelling to go down. A cast placed right away can make the swelling worse and lead to compartment syndrome and pain.
