Screening test EBV: Heterophile antibody is a screening test to evaluate for epstein barr viral infection. It is not reliable in young children and specific antibody levels to certain epstein barr components may be more reliable.

Positive Mono: This is a test result that is positive for the virus called ebv- epstein barr virus, also called mononucleosis- the patient should be seen by a doctor, the spleen should be checked. If the spleen is enlarged, the patient should not be allowed to play in contact sports until the spleen returns to normal size.
