IgE antibodies: Testing for ige antibodies may be useful to establish the diagnosis of an allergic disease and to define the allergens responsible for eliciting signs and symptoms.

IgE or IgG?: Having serum ige to oregano can indicate the possibility of having anaphylactic spectrum reactions to foods spiced with oregano, however, there is a growing trend of testing for igg to foods. With specific examples such as heiner syndrome excluded, there are no known diseases associated with the presence of igg to foods (including oregano) and this could simply reflect that you eat it and are ok.
